A beautiful winter’s day greeted our ladies for Saturday’s Stableford at Tathra Beach Country Club, they were Lucky to get in before the wind picked up.

Congratulations to our Grade A winner Robyn Brand, who returned a terrific 36 points, with Karen Enright runner-up on 34 points.

Grade B was decided on a countback, with Joan Hardy claiming the win on 37 points, edging out Marg Kermode, who also finished with 37 points.

A very special congratulations goes to Jan McGrath, who achieved every golfer’s dream with a hole in one on the 12th hole.

Ladies Match Play

Earlier in the day the Ladies Match Play Final was contested between Margaret Nall and Cherryle Watters.

Match play differs from Stableford or stroke events as golfers compete directly against their opponent, winning individual holes rather than counting an overall score for the entire round. The player who wins the most holes over the course of the match is declared the winner.

After a great contest, Cherryle defeated Margaret to be crowned the 2026 Ladies Match Play Champion, proudly receiving the prestigious Isobel Goldsmith Trophy.

Congratulations Cheryl on a wonderful achievement, and well played to Margaret for making the final.

Womens Monthly Medal - June

It was certainly a crisp and frosty start for the ladies on Saturday morning, but once everyone thawed out and the sunshine took over, it turned into a beautiful day for golf. A field of 28 players contested the Women’s Monthly Medal Stroke event, with some excellent scoring recorded despite the chilly beginning to the day.

Congratulations to Lyn Hambilton, who claimed the Monthly Medal honours after a countback on nett 74. Lyn also took out the A Grade Winner title and added Best Putter to her achievements for the day with an impressive 30 putts.

In A Grade, Carny Driscoll finished runner-up with nett 74, while in B Grade, Colleen Bennett secured the win on a countback with nett 77, narrowly edging out Edith Robinson, who also returned an excellent nett 77.

An eagle is a rare feat in golf, scored by completing a hole in two shots under par, making it an achievement well worth celebrating. Congratulations, Sirena!

The Monthly Medal is one of the most prestigious events on the ladies’ golfing calendar, with each monthly winner qualifying for the Medal of Medallists later in the year.

In A Grade, it was Lyn Hambilton who led the way with an impressive 38 points, claiming the top spot ahead of Carny Driscoll on 37 points, winning on a countback.

B Grade honours went to Sharon Dowling with 36 points, while Colleen Bennett finished runner-up with 33 points.

Another Wet day of ladies golf at Tathra Beach Country Club on Saturday with the ladies taking on a Women’s Par on the Pink event.

For those wondering, “Par on the Pink” means the ladies played the course using the pink tee markers, a slightly different challenge and encouraging some strategic golf around the course. In a Par event, golfers are trying to beat the course hole by hole, finishing either plus, square or minus depending on their score against par.

Despite some testing conditions out on the course, there were some fantastic scores returned across both grades.

Tuesday May Monthly Medal

It was absolutely miserable conditions out on the course for Tuesday’s Ladies Monthly Medal Stroke event
What started as a light drizzle quickly turned into consistent rain, leaving for some very wet ladies out on the course! Around five players decided enough was enough and pulled out, however congratulations to all the ladies who battled through the conditions and finished the round.

For those who made it back into the clubhouse, they were welcomed with a warm round of applause for their efforts… and of course a golf ball reward for surviving the weather.

Monthly Medal is a stroke event played once a month, where players compete for the best nett score in their grade. Winners from each monthly medal event can then qualify for the annual Medal of Medallists playoff later in the year.

Round 4 of the Ladies Pennants was held at Bega on Friday the 15th of May, with another fantastic day of golf, friendship and team spirit enjoyed across the region.

What a wonderful two weeks of golf for our annual Ladies Pink Course Challenge, with fantastic fields across both rounds and some outstanding scoring on the pink course. It was especially lovely to see so many of our ladies embracing the pink theme, even though there was absolutely no requirement to wear pink. The splash of pink right across the course created such a fun and vibrant atmosphere and really added to the spirit of this much-loved annual event.

Women's Stroke Monthly Medal

A lovely field of 29 ladies teed it up on Easter Saturday for the Women’s Stroke Monthly Medal, with some excellent nett scores returned across both grades.
For those newer to golf, Monthly Medal is played as a stroke round, with the winner determined by the best nett score after handicap is taken off the total strokes. It’s one of the more traditional and competitive events on the ladies calendar.

What a beautiful morning for our Monday Ladies 9 Holers, with 8 ladies taking on the back nine in perfect conditions.

It was wonderful to see the ladies enjoying the sunshine and making the most of the lovely course conditions.

A reminder that the Monday 9 Holers tee off again next Monday at 8:30am, and all are welcome — it’s the perfect way for beginners, returning golfers, or anyone wanting a fun and friendly 9 holes to get involved.

After all the beautiful rain we’ve had lately, the course was looking absolutely magnificent for Saturday’s Women’s Stableford on the Red tees, with 26 players enjoying the fresh conditions.
With the course playing a little tougher under a PCC of +2, scoring was still very solid across both grades.

Day Two of the Tathra Ladies Open saw our lower handicap divisions (0–26) take to the course, with 48 ladies heading out for another shotgun start.

Up until about five minutes before tee-off it looked like the rain gods might not be on our side, but the rain cleared just in time, the sun began to peek through and it turned into a lovely day for golf here at Tathra 🌤️

We’d like to once again warmly welcome our visiting players joining us from Bega, Bermagui, Eden, Pambula/Merimbula and Tura, along with those travelling from further afield including Narooma, Moruya, Mallacoota, Coolamatong, Cooma, Delegate and Catalina. Today we officially kicked off the Tathra Ladies Open, held over two days, with our higher handicap divisions (C & D Grade) teeing off today and the lower handicap divisions set to play tomorrow.
We were lucky with the weather — the rain held out, although it did warm up towards the end of the round. Thank you to all players for attending today, and we hope everyone had a great day out on the course.
We had 55 players out on the course today with a shotgun start, meaning all ladies headed off at the same time — setting the scene for a fantastic day of golf. It was a lovely morning here at Tathra after a few days of rain, with fingers crossed the weather continues to be kind 🤞

Women’s Stroke (Monthly Medal No. 1)

Tuesday, 17th February, 2026.

The ladies played a Women’s Stroke round on Tuesday with a strong field of 52 players taking on the GA Course. While many commented on just how challenging the format can be, it was a hot day made enjoyable by a light breeze, creating lovely conditions out on the course.
A stroke round is one of golf’s truest tests — every single shot counts. Players record the total number of strokes taken over the round, with no holes picked up, so consistency and concentration are key from the first tee to the final putt.

A lovely morning out on the course for our Monday 9 Holers, with 15 ladies taking on the front nine in classic summer conditions.
A cool, overcast start made for great golfing weather, before the sun came out to warm things up nicely ☀️
Today’s competition added a fun twist, with mystery holes on 3, 5 & 8 deciding the results — keeping everyone on their toes!

The ladies enjoyed a beautiful day on the course on Saturday for the Women’s Par played on the GA Course from the Red tees, with a terrific field of 30 players taking part.
Par competitions are all about match play against the course. Each hole is played against its par score — winning a hole puts you +1, losing a hole puts you -1, and halving the hole stays square. The player with the highest score at the end of the round is the winner.

Congratulations to Juanita Trent on an incredible hole-in-one — a fantastic achievement!

The Play of the day belonged to Juanita Trent on the 12th hole. After hitting off the tee, Juanita walked down to the green with both her putter and pitching wedge in hand, unsure which club she’d need.
After walking around the back of the green and thinking “gosh, it must have gone into the reeds," she was thrilled to discover her ball had in fact found the bottom of the cup — a hole-in-one!

It was a perfect day for golf today, the sun was shining and there was little wind, we had 37 players contested the Women’s Stableford on the GA Course.

Traditionally our ladies pose with a Christmas ham as their prize, but with no hams on hand this today, a cute little piggy bank stepped in instead . A fun and fitting substitute that gave us a laugh and made for a memorable photo.

It was a perfect day for golf, with 20 Tathra ladies taking to the course and putting in a fantastic effort.

Celebrating Jodie's 70th

Alongside our ladies’ competition, we were also celebrating Jodie’s 70th birthday. A huge thank you goes to the ladies who always create such special cakes for these milestone “big 0” birthdays. Normally Yeti works her magic, but as she was away this week, Trish Tarlington stepped in — and the cake was absolutely delicious!

The birthday girl always chooses the flavour, and Jodie went with a rich chocolate cake. Trish’s creation was more than just yummy — it was full of meaning. The two round cakes symbolised dumbbells (a nod to Jodie’s home gym workouts), while decorations reflected her love of cycling, knitting and crocheting, quilting, and of course, her passion for golf.

A creative and thoughtful tribute to a much-loved member — happy 70th, Jodie! 🥳💐⛳️

33 players in two divisions competed in a par competition on the Pink course on Tuesday. Helen Katis was the winner in division 1with +3 on a count back from the in-form Kaye Murray. In division two winner Penny Butt also came in with +3 from Wendy Rhodes with +1. Jennifer Bateman took home the best nine voucher with +3 on the front 9 in a countback. Nearest the pins went to Michele Blight on both the 3rd and 14th with Liz Canney on the 9th and Kaye Murray on the 18th.

11 players took to the field on Saturday in what turned out to be a relatively sunny day with the predicted rain not arriving. Winner of the day was Kaye Murray with a lovely 34 points from Michele Blight with 33 points. Balls went to Carol Stege, Trish Tarlinton both on 32 and Marg Nall on 30. Judith Thompson had the best 9 with 19 on the back. NTP on the 9th went to Michele Blight.
Michele also starred with an Eagle on the 13th! Mighty effort.

40 players in 3 divisions hit off on Tuesday with 7 visitors from Bega for the first of our interclub matches. A great day was had by all followed by a feast at lunchtime - thanks to all the ladies who contributed and to our wonderful catering coordinators.

A grade winner with a fabulous 40 points was Helen Young, from Noeline Bell with 32 points. B grade was won by Deirdre Feneley with 36 points from Marg Nall on 34 points. C grade went to Judith Thompson on 33 points from Di Mackay on 31. Visitors trophy went to Patricia Warby with 36 points. Yetty Burgess had the best 9 with 20 points on the front.

22 ladies took to the field for a Par competition played on the Red course in chilly conditions. Jo McKenzie was the best of the day winning A grade with -2 from Lyn Hambilton on -3. Judith Thompson took out B grade on a countback from Cherryle Watters, both with -3. Best 9 went to Helen Katis.

A 4 Person Drop Out Ambrose was the event of the day with 42 players taking on the challenge. The winning team was Sally Armstring, Denise Falvey, Kaye Murray and Helen Young. with 65.375 nett. Tathra Golfers are feeling very lucky that, despite the heavy rainfall over the past week, we were able to play our "Flooded Course" today without any water laying around. Hopefully the lower holes will drain in the coming days opening the full course again. 27 players competed in a Stableford event with a few of our members playing in the Pambula Merimbula Open. Division 1 was won by Mara Roberts with 37 points with Liz Canney the runner up with 34 points. Fresh back from holiday, the best score of the day went to Judith Thomson with a wonderful 39 points from Judy Shallard who had 35 points. Best nine went to Colleen Bennett, surving multiple countbacks with 17 points on the front nine. NTP's were claimed by Marg Kermode on the 3rd, Liz Caney the 8th, Karen Enright the 13th and Helen Katis the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 30 points or better.

Just 24 players competing for the Monthly Medal on a very cool morning. Colleen Bennett came out the victor with 77 nett, ahead of Pam Hahne who had 78 nett. No-one managed to get on any of the Par 3 NTP's. Rhonda Castellari was the best putter with 28 putts needed to complete the round. Balls down the line to those with 82 nett or better.

Despite being a cold blustery day a few managed the course without any problems while others struggled. Our Division 1 Winner was Carolyn Gale who had a nett 78 beating Wendy Hergenhan on a countback. Cherryle Watters had no trouble with the conditions and posted a great score of 72 nett winning Division 2 and the Monthly Medal. Yetty Burgess also with a fine score of 73 nett was declared the runner up. Putting honours were shared by Marnie Nicholson, Narelle Harrison and Wendy Hergenhan all with 28 putts.

NTP's were claimed by Marg Kermode on the 3rd, Cherryle Watters the 9th and Karen Enright the 18th along with the Golden Shot pool.

A stableford event was played in perfect winter weather with 28 players taking part. A countback was needed to determine the winner of Division 1 with Lyn Hambilton coming out ahead of Cherryle Watters both with 35 points. Judy Filmer had the best score in Division 2 with 33 points from Jan McGrath who survived a countback from Sue Howland with 32 points. NTP's were claimed by Marg Kermode on the 3rd, Robyn Brand both the 9th and the 14th and Robyn Carnegie the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 29 points or better.

The second day of the Foursomes Championships was played in beautiful weather. The daily event Division 1 was won by Anne Marie Maley and Lyn Hambilton with 77.5 nett with Alison Anderson and Margaret Nall the runners up with 78 nett. B Grade daily winners were Carolyn Gale and Claire Walker with 75 nett. Colleen Bennett and Cherryle Watters were the runners up with 78.5 nett.

NTP's were won by Michele Blight (and Robyn Brand) the 9th and Colleen Bennett (and Cherryle Watters) the 18th.

Our Foursomes Club Champions for this year are Michele Blight and Robyn Brand with 200 scratch while Noeline Bell and Pam Hahne were declared the runners-up just one shot behind with 201 scratch. Handicap honours went to Alison Anderson and Margaret Nall with 159 ahead of Liz Canney and Carol Stege who had166 nett. Division 2 Scratch winners were Colleen Bennett and Cherryle Watters with 217 with Helen Katis and Carlene Maley the runners up with 221. Division 2 Handicap honours went to Joan Hardy and Lou Holt with 156 and Judy Shallard and Rhonda Castellari were the runners up with 161 nett.

it was a perfect day for the Final of the SIngles Match Play for 2025. It was always going to be a tough battle between Michele Blight and Alison Anderson going to the 19th Hole before a winner was declared.

Despite the torrential rain Thursday and Friday the course was open for play with 27 competing in a Stableford event. How great is our course! Liz Canney had the best score of the day with 37 points, winning Division 1 from Sirena Brace-Clarke who had 32 points. Kaye Murray was the best in Division 2 with 35 points, including 3 wipes, while Judy Filmer was declared the runner up with 32 points. Best nine went to Sharon Dowling who had 18 points on the front nine. One of the highlights of our golfing calendar, Patron's Day, was played on Tuesday with 50 starters competing in a Par event on the Red Course. With a great scoe of plus 3 Patty McCartney was declared the winner of Division 1 ahead of Alison Anderson who had plus 2. Mara Roberts was the best on Division 2 with plus 2 with Margaret Nall the runner up with minues 2. Rhonda Castellari continues her good form with plus 1 to take out Division 3 from Judith Thomson who had minus 2. Best Nine went to Kerry Gardner with plus 2 on the back nine. NTP's were awarded to Jenny Ellis on the 3rd, Robyn Brand the 9th, Juanita Trent the 14th and Sue Howland the 18th. Balls down the line to those with minus 5 or better.

Ten ladies played in cool conditions on the back nine with Mystery Holes being the format of the day. Winners were Judith Thomson, Amanda Radford and Joyce Riddell. No golf next Monday as it is the Biggest Morning Tea - $10 entry, 10am start.

Monthly Medal was the programmed event today with 31 players taking part. Division 1 went Alison Anderson with 75 nett ahead of Sirena Brace-Clarke who survived a countback with 76 nett declared the runner up. The best score of the day and the Medal winner was Rhonda Castellari with 72 nett with Wendy Rhodes the Division 2 runner up with 76 nett. Putting honors went to Alison Anderson with just 27 putts needed to complete the round.

NTP's were hard to come by with only 2 being awarded, Sue Howland on the 9th and Judy Filmer the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 78 nett or better.

Wendy Hergenhan was the runner up on a countback from Robyn Brand. Division 2 was won by Margaret Nall with 32 points ahead of Di Evans who had 31 points. Judith Thomson had a score of 30 points taking out Division 3 ahead of Carol Newton who had 29 points. Best nine went to Wendy Watson who had 21 points on the front nine. Despite the cool start to the day, it was a perfect day for golf. 28 Players took part in the Stableford competition with Tania Reid returning the best score of the day and winning Division 1 with 37 points. The runner up was Jo McKenzie with 34 points. Jo Byrnes was the best in Division 2 with 35 points with Margaret Nall being declared the runner up with 33 points. The best nine was awarded to Robyn Brand with 21 points on the front nine.

30 players competed in a Par event on the Pink Course. Jo McKenzie had the best score of the day winning Division 1 with plus 1 from Jo Byrnes who returned a score of minus 1. A countback was needed to determine the winner of Division 2 with Colleen Bennett defeating Joan Hardy both with minus 1. The best nine also required a countback with Pam Hahne's plus 2 on the back nine being the winner.

47 players competed in the second round of the Pink Course Challenge. Daily winners were Helen Katis in Division 1 with 71 nett from Karen Enright who had 73 nett defeating Liz Canney on a countback. Anne Marie Maley was pleased to be back in the winner's circle with a great 69 nett with Colleen Bennett the runner up with 70 nett. The score of the day belonged to Rosalee Guley with a great 68 nett while Claire Walker survived a countback from Judith Thomson with 77 nett. Putting honours were awarded to Karen Enright and Colleen Bennett with 29 putts. NTP's went to Patty James on the 3rd, Judy Filmer the 9th, Narelle Harrison the 14th and Amanda Radford the 18th. Balls Down the line to those with 78 nett or better.

Cherryle Watters was declared the Pink Course Champion with 140 nett over the 36 holes. Division 1 was won by Karen Enright with 143 nett and Liz Canney the runner up with 146 nett. Colleen Bennett took out Division 2 with 145 nett from Amanda Radford who had 151 nett. Rosalee Guley won Division 3 with 145 nett from Rhonda Castellari who had 162 nett. Putting honours over the 36 holes went to Robyn Brand and Colleen Bennett with 59 putts.

Thanks to a great band of volunteers who worked on the course yesterday following the flooding rain, we managed to play our Monthly Medal on the full course. While still a little wet underfoot, there were some good scores recorded with the Medal being won by Karen Enright recording a nett 74. Runner Up in Division 1 was Noeline Bell who survived a countback from Marg Nall with 77 nett. Jan Meares was the best in Division 2 with 76 nett ahead of Yetty Burgess who had 77 nett. Putting honors went to Yetty Burgess and Noeline Bell, both recording 27 putts. NTP's were won by Kim Jones on the 3rd, Robyn Brand the 9th and Alison Anderson the 18th along with the Golden Shot pool. Balls down the line to those with 81 nett or better.

No golf was played today with the greens becoming almost unplayable due to the heavy overnight rain along with more predicted throughout the day. The second round of the Pink Course challenge will be played next week April 29th.

This did not stop however the celebrations for Sally Armstrong's special birthday with a good crowd meeting at the club to honour her.

The best score for the day was returned by Cherryl Watters with a great 68 nett taking out Division 1 from Karen Enright who had a very comendable 70 nett. Division 2 was won by Amanda Radford who had 73 nett from Kerry Gardner who won the countback from Colleen Bennett with 75 nett. Jennifer Bateman had 71 nett to win Division 3 from Pene Butte who also survived a countback from Libby Whiteway with 72 nett. Putting honours were shared by Robyn Brand and Kerry Gardner needing just 28 putts to complete the round.

Perfect conditions for golf with 48 starters competing for the Monthly Medal. Denise Falvey had a wonderful round and won the Medal, and Division 1, with 69 nett. Sue Howland, also recording a good round was the runner up with 71 nett. Jan Meares had a nett 75 winning Division 2 from Jo Byrnes who had 76 nett. Raewyn Galton took out Division 3 with76 nett ahead of Carol Brown who had 83 nett. Lesley White claimed the putting trophy needing just 26 putts to complete the round. NTP's went to Carol Newton the 3rd, Shirley Toohill the 14th and Patty McCartney the 18th along with the Golden Shot which was a jackpot. Well done Patty. 33 players competed in a Stableford event on Tuesday. Sue Howland was the best in Division 1 with 33 points ahead of Trish Tarlinton with 32 points. Rhonda Castellari survived a countback to take out Division 2 with 31 points from Kim Jones. Di Mackay had the best nine recording 18 points on the back nine. NTP's went to Carlene Maley on the 3rd, Helen Katis the 9th and Wendy Hergenhan the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 24 points or better.

Congratulations to Carney Driscoll, Joan Hardy and Edith Robinson each winning their Division handling the Par 3 Challenge set for the Day on Saturday March 15th.

Tuesday March 18 was a Par event on the Red ahead of the FSC&TGA Tournament at Tura. Margaret Nall took out Division 1 with plus 2 from Carol Stege who had plus 1. The best score for the day went to Jennifer Bateman with plus 5 from Jodie Russell who had minus 1.

Saturday March 22 was a Stableford event with Jo McKenzie winning Division 1 on a countback from Karen Enright with 32 points. Cherryle Watters returned a fine 36 points to win Division 2 from Jodie Russell who had 31 points.

Tuesday March 25 was the President vs Captain Match Play with the first round of the SIngles Match Play in conjunction. Congratulations to the Captain's team winning the coveted trophy this year. Don't forget the next round of the Singles Match Play needs to be played by April 8.

Saturday March 29 was a Monthly Medal Round. Unfortunately due to the weather only 10 players participated. Sirena Brace-Clarke won the Medal with 75 nett, while Marg Kermode took out the putting honours.

54 players for today's Stableford Competition giving us 4 Divisions. Division 1 was won by Helen Young with 37 points ahead of Lesley White who had 35 points. Mara Roberts continues her steady form winning Division 2 with 32 points ahead of Helen Katis who had 31 points. Division 3 was a closely fought contest with Joan Hardy coming out on top ahead of Kim Jones, both with 31 points. Equalling the best score of the day was Pene Butt with 37 points to win Division 4 with Jennifer Bateman the runner-up with 31 points.

Today it was turn for the Division 1 and 2 players to take on the challenges that Tathra has to offer with 50 players competing.
Our Open Champion for this year is Anne Pointon (PM) with a score of 83 scratch. The Division 1 Scratch winner was Sirena Brace-Clarke (Tathra) with 85 ahead of Lynn Ponsford (Bermagui) who had 86. Division 1 Net Winner was Trish Tarlinton (Tathra) with 75 with Robyn Brand (Tathra) surviving a countback to claim the runner up trophy.

Division 2 Scratch Winner was Liz Canney (Tathra) wih 96 Scratch ahead of Helen Young (Tathra) who also survived a countback to be declared the runner up with 98 Scratch. Division 2 Nett Winners were Anna Blacka (Bermagui) with 74 Nett ahead of Anne Madigan (Tura) with 76 Nett.

Kerry Hunting (Tura) was awarded the Visitor's Trophy with 77 nett. NTP's were claimed by Michelle Blight (Tathra) on the 9th and Leonie Bell (PM) on the 18th. Elyse Cuzner was awarded the Longest Drive for Division 1 and Alison Anderson (Tathra) Division 2. The Straightest Drives went to Julie Stephens-Campbell (Eden) Division 1 and Helen Young (Tathra) Division 2.

Teams event today was won by the team of Trish Tarlinton, Sirena Brace-Clarke and Michelle Blight. The lucky raffle winners were Lyn Ponsford (Bermagui) and Carolyn Gale (Tura) while Jodie Russell took hime the "100 Club" spoils.

For the first time in quite a while Tathra managed to secure the Tathra Ladies Cup with the team of Colleen Bennett, Kaye Murray, Serena Brace-Clarke and Michelle Blight.

Tuesday's competition was the day for our Divison 3 and 4 players competing in our Annual Open Tournament, with 51 players over the 2 Divisions. The course was presented in magnificent order along with many extra touches around the way. The Division 3 Scratch winner was Mara Roberts (Tathra) with 99 off the stick while Heather Dennis was the runner-up with 101.
The nett was claimed by Yetty Burgess (Tathra) with 76 nett ahead of Deirdre Feneley (Tathra) who had 77 nett. Division 4 was won by Colleen Bennett (Tathra) with 102 off the stick while Wendy Rhodes (Tathra) claimed the runner up trophy with 108. The nett went to Susie O'Neill from Tura with 74 nett from Elaine Arts also from Tura who survived a countback to claim the runner-up nett trophy.

NTP's were won by Frankie Dowling (P/M) Division 3 on the 14th and Beverley Keatley (Catalina) the 18th Division 4. Longest drives were claimed by Davina Pickering (Tura) Division 3 and Andrea Thistlethwayte (Tura) Division 4. Di Mercieca (Tura) had the straightest drive in Division 3 and Lynne Richardson (Catalina) Division 4. The visitor's trophy went to Patricia Warby (Bega). Jan Heaver (Bermagui) took home the 1st prize in the raffle with Di Campbell claiming 2nd prize. The 100 Club was gratefully won by Narelle Harrison (Tathra).

The teams event was won by Yetty Burgess, Marg Kermode and Colleen Bennett with 232.

Sunday February 23 2025

The Ladies Shoot-Out finally went ahead on Sunday with a field of 10.   Unfortunately, Helen Katis didn’t get off to a great start and was the first to be eliminated making 9 others happy.

Lesley White was the next to go with a sudden mental lapse in a closest to the pin putting competition.

Colleen Bennett couldn’t handle the bad lie, even though it was in the rough, and made a mess of the Par 3, but was lucky enough to be involved in a “chip off” against Serena and Trish.   Say no more.

Pam Hahne was the next to go on the 4th and Margaret Nall the 5th.

Serena Brace-Clarke missed a short putt on the 6th to force another “putt off”.    Going first Serena put her shot within a couple of inches of the cup but with a never say die attitude Karen Enright got inside that.

The 7th hole also needed to be decided by a ‘Chip Off” between Wendy Rhodes and Karen.   It was Karen’s turn to not be so lucky.

In an unlike Trish Tarlinton way, she was in a bit of trouble after her second shot on the 8th and while scrambling well didn’t survive.

And so there were two.   Wendy Rhodes and Jo Byrnes. Both missing short putts for a win led to another “chip off”.     Both Jo and Wendy played well on the day but in the end Wendy was crowned the Shoot-Out Champion.

The NTP was won by Pam Hahne in close contest against Trish.

Pam Hahne and Noeline Bell combined well to win with a nett 65, closely followed by Margaret Nall and Sirena Brace-Clarke with 66 nett. Lyn Hambilton and Alison Anderson held of a few countbacks to be declared 3rd place winner. NTP's were awarded to Kath Brown the 3rd, Robyn Brand the 9th, Noeline Bell the 14th and Di Evans the 18th. 26 players for a Stableford event on a slightly wet course, but no rain during play. Michele Blight had no trouble with the condiions winning Division 1 with 37 points. Liz Canney was the next best with 34 points. Colleen Bennett held off Wendy Rhodes to win the countback in Division 2, both with 32 points. Anne Morley won the NTP on the 3rd, Narelle Harrison the 9th, Robyn Brand the 14th and Yetty Burgess the 18th. Best nine went to Jo McKenzie with 19 on the back nine. With bad weather forecast, we had 38 starters for a Stableford event. Wendy Cutting, visiting from Gerringong, won Division 1 with 34 points ahead of Denise Falvey who had 31 points surviving a countback from Wendy Hergenhan. Judy Filmer was the best in Division 2 with 34 points from Marg Kermode who also survived a counback from Cherryl Watters, Judith Thomson was the best in Division 3 with 32 points ahead of Pene Butt who had 29 points again on a countback from Colleen Bennett. NTP's were awarded to Noeline Bell the 9th, Elyse Cuzner the 14th and Wendy Cutting the 18th. Best nine went to Tania Reid with 21 points on the front nine. 10 Ladies braved an overcast day. Winners today were Myra De La Rue, Di Mackay and Judith Thomson. On the 17th we are hosting Bega Ladies, 8.30am shotgun start playing a Drop Out Ambrose on the front nine We need some ladies to bring sandwiches or slice please. Our Monthly lunch has been moved to Wednesday the 19th as there won't be any power at the Club this Wednesday February 12th.

31 players competed for the Monthly Medal in very steamy, heavy conditions. Jo McKenzie and Pam Hahne were declared joint Medal Winners with Jo taking the top voucher on a countback with 73 nett. Narelle Harrison was the best in Division 2 with 75 nett from Yetty Burgess who had 77 nett surviving a countback from Marg Kermode. NTP's went to Narelle Harrison the 3rd, Liz Canney the 9th, Noeline Bell the 14th and Pam Hahne the 18th. Best putting went to Colleen Bennett with 27 putts. 58 Players for Opening Day for the Year with an Irish Stableford the event. A whopping 88 points was returned by the team of Jan Meares, Carol Brown, Di Mackay and Jennifer Bateman, blitzing the field by 9 points. Sue Howland, Anne-Marie Maley, Carol Newton and Karen Enright held off a countback from Patty McCartney, Lesley White, Juanita Trent and Patricia Daly both with 79 points for second and third. 4 Teams were awarded balls down to 72 nett. NTP's went to Kerrie South on the 3rd, a visitor from Tuncurry, Lesley White the 9th and 18th and Shirley Toohill the14th.

Next Saturday is the first of the weekend Medal Rounds for the year and if you wish to enter the Golf NSW Medal event then $5 must be paid prior to play.

Our Annual Summer Breeze Individual Stroke Competition took place over the weekend. 36 Starters on the Saturday had Wendy Hergenhan winning the Scratch event with 83 with Serena Brace-Clarke hot on her heels with 84. Patricia Daly was the best in Division 2 with 101 from Marg Kermode with 106 holding off a countback from Carlene Maley. The nett winners went to Karen Enright with 73 nett on a countback from Jo McKenzie. In Division 2 Carlene Maley was declared the nett winner with 74 from Judith Thomson who had 76. NTP's went to Wendy Rhodes on the 3rd and the 14th, Sirena Brace-Clarke the 9th and Nicole Lock the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 81 nett or better.

Sunday was a much nicer day weather wise with 33 players. Scratch again was won by Wendy Hergenhan with 83 and Robyn Brand the runner up with 89. Margaret Nall was the best in Division 2 with 102 and Marg Kermode next best with 103.
The nett winners were Karen Enright with 72 Nett from Patricia James who had 74 nett. Wendy Rhodes had the best score in Divison 2 with 75 nett from Yetty Burgess with 77 nett. NTP's went to Colleen Bennett the 3rd, Wendy Hergenhan the 9th, Jodie Russell the 14th and Kim Jones the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 81 nett or better.

No surprises that Wendy Hergenhan won the 36 hole event with a total of 166 and Robyn Brand the runner up with 178. Division 2 was won by Marg Kermode with 209 from Yetty Burgess who had 211. Nett winners Karen Enright with 145 and Sirena Brace Clarke the runner up with 149. Carlene Maley took out the Division 2 Nett with 156 from Judith Thomson who had 158.

A 4BBB Stableford was the event of the day in our Annual Summer Breeze Tournament. Despite the torrentail rain the night before the course was in magnificent condition and is a credit to our Greenstaff and Volunteers. Thank You.

Winners were Cherryl Watters and Colleen Bennett combining well with a score of 41 points. Amanda Radford and Pene Butt were declared the runners up with 40 points while Michele Blight and Joan Hardy held off a countback to claim 3rd. NTP's went to Yetty Burgess on the 14th and Sirena Brace-Clarke the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 35 points or better.

43 players took part in a Stableford event in very warm muggy conditions. Pat James was the best in Division 1 with 36 points ahead of Trish Tarlinton who had 35 points. Jo Byrnes survived a countback from Kaye Murray to take out Division 2 with 34 points while Colleen Bennett had the best score of the day with 39 points ahead of Wendy Rhodes who had 35 points in Division 3. Best Nine went to Judith Thomson with 20 points on the back nine. NTP's went to Wendy Rhodes the 3rd, Pam Hahne the 14th and Lesley White the 18th. A busy time of year with everyone getting ready for Christmas saw just 26 players in the field today. Sue Howland was the best in Division 1 with 35 points ahead of Lyn Hambiltn with 33 points surviving a countback from Pam Hahne. Despite cooler, windier conditions than predicted there were some pretty good scores recorded. Trish Tarlinton was the best in Division 1 with 37 points from Denise Falvey who had 36 points. Lesley White with the best score of the day, 42 points, took out Division 2 from Patty McCartney who had 37 points. Certainly on a winning streak, Colleen Bennett again had the best score in Division 3 with 37 points just holding off Pene Butt on a countback. NTP's went to Di Mackay on the 3rd, Denise Falvey the 9th, Tania Reid the 14th and Di Mackay the 18th. Di also took out the best 9 with 23 points on the back. At a very busy time of the year, thirteen ladies played in our final nine-hole competition for the year. As usual, only three clubs were allowed, and we played off the pink short course. Despite not having access to a full set of clubs there were some impressive scores. In the Christmas spirit everyone who played received a ball which were donated by one of our 18 hole ladies.

After golf, a lovely morning tea was held which also includes some ladies that couldn't play today.

31 Players taking advantage of great golfing conditions trying to win a ham. Helen Katis had the best score of the day and took out Division 1 with 38 points with Karen Enright winning the countback from Robyn Brand with 37 points being the runner up. Division 2 went to Patricia Daly with 34 points surviving a countback from Pete Butt.

It was Closing Day for the Year, even though we don't stop playing golf. It was a day of fun and laughter with the theme for this year "I'm in the ......" , so use your imagination. The winning teams on the day, even if a few rafferty's rules were applied, Di Mackay, Maree Hergenhan, Claire Walker and Carol Brown, next in the pecking order Jennifer Bateman, Mandi Stevenson, Phyllis Piscopo and Sally Armstrong with the team of Juanita Trent, Sue Howland, Cherryle Watters and Trish Tarlinton claiming 3rd. Following the early morning drizzle a lot of ladies withdraw from todays competition with just 22 players hoping to win a ham.
A very humid day in the end and with the great rain that we have had, the grass is thriving taking any run away. Division 1 was won by Karen Enright surving a countback from Cherryle Watters with 77 nett. Colleen Bennett had the best score of the day with 74 nett from Tania Reid who had 75 nett. NTP's were claimed by Patricia Daly on the 9th, Karen Enright the 14th and Juanita Trent the 18th, Putting was shared by Kaye Murray and Juanita Trent needing just 28 for the round. 46 players lined up to try and win with the start of our Xmas Hams up for grabs in each Division. Robyn Brand managed to hold out Michele Blight to take out Division 1, both ladies returning an impressive score of 38 points. Narelle Harrison had the best score of the day with 40 points with Jodie Russell the runner up with 35 points. Colleen Bennett doesn't know how she managed to snare a ham with just 32 points ahead of Carol Brown who had 31 points. 14 Ladies enjoyed a glorious, albeit hot day. After the magnificent rain, the fairways were thick and lush making it hard work to get on the green. Winners were Jennifer Bateman, Patricia Daly and Pene Butt. Don't forget it's an 8.30 tee over summer. All welcome.

46 players took part in a Par event on the Red Course. You had to be able to come home strong in Division 1 with a four way countback needed to determine the winners all with plus 2. Coming out on top was Denise Falvey with Wendy Hergenhan the runner up while Noeline Bell and Liz Canney had to be content to receive a ball. A countback was also needed in Division 2 with Joan Hardy coming in ahead of Jodie Russell both with plus 1. Division 3 was won by Di Mackay also with plus 1 while Edith Robinson was declared the runner up on a countback from Colleen Bennett with minus 1. Noeline Bell did have the bext nine with plus 3 on the front nine. Balls down the line to those with minus 4 or better. NTP's went to Amanda Radford on the 3rd, while Karen Enright had her Par 3 game on a string taking out the 9th, the 18th along with the Golden Shot Pool and a Hole In One on the 14th.

A Stableford event next week with the first of the Christmas Hams up for grabs. It is also the start of the summer shootout with $15 entry for those wishing to enter. Scores to count once entry fee has been paid.

A full field pf players taking part in the Parbery Day 4 Person Ambrose event. The lucky winners was the team of Ellen Hardy, Lee Carter, Sirena Brace-Clarke and Essie Pulling returning a score of 57.625. The next best was Robyn Brand, Alison Anderson, Lyn Hambilton and Trish Tarlinton with 60.5 while Elyse Cuzner, Helen Katis, Cherryle Watters and Judy Filmer just half a point behind taking out third place. Balls were awarded to those with 66.625 or better. NTP's were claimed by Amanda Radord on the 3rd, Robyn Brand the 14th and Trish Tarlinton the 18th, while Lee Carter had the straightest drive.

Today a Canadian Foursomes was played on the Pink Course ahead of the Ladies' AGM. Michele Blight and Kaye Murray are proving to be a formidable pair in this format winning with a score of 72.875. Anne Marie Maley and Pat James were the next best with 73.625 while Helen Katis and Judith Thomson took out third place with 73.75. NTP's were awarded to Kaye Murray on the 3rd while her partner Michele Blight took out the 18th. Anne Maree Maley, obviously very pleased to be able to play again couldn't help but get excitied with a Hole In One on the 9th while her playing partner Pat James took out the 14th. Choose your own Adventure was the order of the day with 48 ladies deciding which course they wanted to play. The Division 1 winner was Jan McGrath playing off the pink tees with 35 points ahead of Juanita Trent who had 34 points choosing the blue course. The score of the day came from Division 2 with Cherryle Watters having a wonderful 39 points playing the blue course from Deirdre Feneley who had 37 points playing the pink course. Our new player, Belinda Shore took out Division 3 with 38 points off the pink tees and runner-up was Carleen Maley with 37 points also off the pink tees. Best nine went to Marg Kermode with 22 points on the back nine playing the White Course. Belinda Shore won NTP on the 3rd (Pink Course) Helen Katis the 14th (Red Course) and Michele Blight the 18th (Blue Course). No-one playing the White course managed to get to the green. A perfect day for golf on Melbourne Cup day. A Canadian Foursomes was the event of the day with Michele Blight and Kaye Murray easily the victors with 69 nett. Next best was the pairing of Trish Tarlinton and Alison Anderson with 74.875 followed by Amanda Radford and Helen Katis with 75. NTP's went to Kaye Murray the 9th, Noeline Bell the 14th and Juanita Trent the 18th. We also had a "Closest to the Line" novelty event with Trish Tarlinton winning in the Division 1 handicap range, Jan McGrath Division 2 and Colleen Bennett Division 3. A perfect day for Golf for the final Round of the Championships.

The daily event had 48 starters with Michele Blight taking out Division 1 with 68 nett ahead of Jo McKenzie who had 72 nett winning the countback from Alison Anderson. Division 2 went to Helen Katis with a great score of 65 nett on a countback from Shirley Toohill. Lou Holt took out Division 3 with 67 nett from Rhonda Castellari who had 68 nett. Some great scoring all round. NTP's went to Di Mackay on the 3rd, Shirley Toohill the 9th, Deridre Feneley the 14th and Di Mackay the 18th. Robyn Brand took the putting honours with 25 putts and Pam Hahne scooped the Golden Shot Pool. Balls down the line to those with 75 nett or better.

Noeline Bell was again crowned the Club Champion for 2024. Michele Blight the "A" Grade with Trish Tarlinton the runner up. B Grade honours went to Jo McKenzie ahead of Helen Katis while C Grade Champion is Rhonda Castellari from Narelle Harrison.

A Grade Nett went to Pam Hahne from Lyn Hamilbon, Mark Kermode B Grade from Shirley Toohill, and C Grade Lou Holt from Barb Rowley.

Robyn Brand proved to be the best Putter over the 36 holes and Pam Hahne the recipient of the Gay Dreise Trophy.

The second round of the Club Championships was played in beautiful spring weather. Winners in the daily event were Lyn Hambilton in Division 1 with a great score of 68 nett. Pam Hahne was the runner up also with a good scoe of 69 nett. Division 1 was won by Jo Byrnes who returned a scoe of 70 nett ahead of Jo McKenzie who had 72 nett surviving a countback from Marg Kermode. Division 3 went to Rhonda Castellari who had 72 nett from Deirdre Feneley who had 63 nett also surviving a countback from Judith Thomson. NTP's went to Narelle Harrison on the 9th, Pam Hahne the 14th and Jo Byrnes the 18th. Robyn Brand took out the putting honours with 26 putts.

Only 22 players took part in the 4BBB Stableford event due to the second round of the Championships being played tomorrow Sunday October 27. The best score of the day went to Lyn Hambilton and Alison Anderson with 44 points ahead of Sirena Brace-Clarke and Essie Pulling who had 43 points winning the countback from Pat James and Shirley Toohill. NTP's went to Kaye Murray on the 9th, Jan McGrath the 14th and Pam Hahne , along with the Golden Shot pool, the 18th.

A perfect spring day for the first round of the Ladies' Club Championships for 2024. 43 players on the day with 39 entries for the Championships with the Division splits of 0-24; 25-29 and 30-45. The daiy winner in Division 1 was Pam Hahne with a nett 7- from ALison Anderson who had a nett 72 on a countback from Michele Blight. Mara Roberts shared the best score of the day with Lesley White both with 68 nett. Mara won the countback. Division 3 was won by Lou Holt with nett 70 from Amanada Radford who also won the countback from Carleen Maley with 74 nett. NTP's went to Amanda Radford on the 3rd, Sharon Dowling the 9th, esley White the 14th and Marg Kermode the 18th. Putting honours were shared by Pam Hahne, Mara Roberts and Michele Blight with 27 putts.

Leading the Championships are Division 1 - Michele Blight 1 shot ahead of Noeline Bell; Division 2 Lesley White by 4 ahead of Kaye Murray and Marg Kermode; Division 3 Amanda Radford and Lou Holt share the top spot.

The Medal of Medals was also played in conjunction with Mara Roberts taking out the trophy.

Twelve ladies teed off on a lovely spring morning. Winners were Jo Byrnes, Di Mackay, Jodi Russell and Jo Jamieson. Golf next Monday October 28. All welcome.

31 Players today for a Par event on the Pink Course. There were some fantastic scores with the course being in wonderful condition and the greens recovery beautifully following the recent renovations. Carny Driscoll was the best in Division 1 with a score of plus 5 from Alison Anderson who had a plus 4 on a countback from Cherryle Watters. Jodie Russell, continuing her purple patch, had the score of the day with plus 6 ahead of Judy Filmer who had plus 5 holding off Kaye Murray on a countback. Best nine went to Yetty Burgess who had plus 5 on the back nine with Cherryle Watters missing out again on the countbacks. NTP's went to Robyn Brand on the 3rd, Ivi Streimann the 9th, Noeline Bell the 14th and Yetty Burgess the 18th. Balls down the line to those with plus 1 or better.

Today's game was dedicated to Legacy with all funds raised being donated to this very worthy cause. A stableford event had 50 starters with some good scores being recorded. Noeline Bell was the best in Division 1 with 37 points ahead of Alison Anderson who had 35 points. The best score of the day came from Division 2 with Patty McCartney displaying her many talents with 43 points ahead of Diane Foat, a visitor from Yarram in Victoria, obviously enjoying our course, the runner up with 38 points. Jodie Russell was the best in Division 3 with 38 points while Jenny Ellis was the runner up with 36 points. NTP's went to Amanda Radford on the 3rd, Patty McCartney the 9th and the 14th and Jan McGrath the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 33 points or better. Rex Kermode was on hand to receive our cheque for Legacy and also hand out the vouchers to the winners.

Amanda Radford celebrated her 60th birthday with us, with another lovely cake made by Yetty.

A Stableford event was the game for today with 27 players competing. Alison Anderson was the best in Division 1 with 38 points ahead of Karen Enright holding off Robyn Brand on a countback with 34 points. The best score of the day came from Division 2 with Shirley Toohill recording 43 points. Well done Shirley. Cherryle Watters was the next best with 39 points. Best nine went to Jan McGrath with 20 points on the back nine. NTP's went to Colleen Bennett on the 3rd, Liz Canney the 14th and Carol Stege the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 32 points or better.

A few of our ladies travelled to Delegate for their Open today, helping them celebrate their 50th Anniversary. Next Tuesday has been designated as our Legacy Day with all funds being donated to the Tathra Legacy.

48 players for today's Stableford event. Despite the somewhat cool, windy conditions, there were some great scores returned. Karen Enright survived a countback from Noeline Bell to take out Division 1 with 35 points. Jan McGrath showed her true colours scoring 42 points to take out Division 2 with Margaret Nall the next best with 40 points. Yetty Burgess was feeling rather hard done by only rceiving a ball for the 38 points. The best score was submitted by Amanda Radfor with a whopping 45 points from Kath Brown who had 38 points winning the countback from Ivi Streimann. The best nine went to Carol Brown who had 21 points on the front nine. NTP's were claimed by carol Brown on the 3rd, Patricia Daly the 9th, Karen Enright the 14th and Noeline Bell the 18th also scooping the Golden Shot Pool. Balls down the line to those with 34 points or better.

After golf we helped Helen Katis celebrate her 60th birthday. Many thanks to Yetty for again baking a beautiful cake.

Thirteen ladies tackled the front nine in lovely mild conditions. Winners today were Alison Anderson, Lyn Hambilton, Karen Enright and Di Mackay.

No golf at Tathra next Monday so the ladies will be playing at bega 9 am for 9.30am shotgun start. Open to everyone but please contact Juanita if yoy want to play.

25 Players took part in a Stableford event on Saturday. Noeline Bell, always in good form, took out Division 1 with 36 points from Trish Tarlinton who had 35 points. Patricia Daly with 39 points carded the best score of the day ahead of Kaye Murray who had 38 points. Joan Hardy had the best 9 hole with 19 points on the back nine. NTP's went to Narelle Harrison the on 3rd, Liz Canney the 9th, Narelle Harrison the 14th and Karen Enright the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 32 points or better.

60 players, including 11 from Bega, for the return match of our Annual Interclub Event. Patty James had no trouble dealing with the slow greens posting a great score of 39 points taking out Division 1 from Karen Enright who also had a great score of 38 points. Kaye Murray was happy with her score of 39 points claiming Division 2 from Patricia Daly who had a very commendable 37 points. Di Campbell was the best in Division 3 with 36 points ahead of Claire Walker who survived numerous countbacks to claim the runner-up trophy with 35 points. The Visitors trophy was won by Janelle Holdsworth with 37 points on a countback from Gillian Petersohn. Best nine went to Joan Hardy who posted a great score of 21 on the front nine.

.NTP's went to Judith Thomson the 3rd, Sally Armstrong the 9th, Liz Canney the 14th and Noeline Bell the 18th. Balls down the line to those with 33 points or better. Congratulations to Bega for retaining the Interclub Trophy.

34 brave souls took to the field on Saturday for the Green Keepers revenge 4 person ambrose, clearly designed to drive golfers crazy! Greens with 3 holes, holes with toilet seats, holes with no flag, holes in bunkers, holes not on the green, holes with hoses to jump.... The team of Anne-Marie Maley, Trish Tarlinton, Lyn Hamilton and the in-form Alison Anderson had no difficulty navigating the course returning with 75 off the stick for a nett 63.75 to win the day from Sirena Brace-Clarke, Patricia Daly, Cherryle Watters and Wendy Rhodes with 80 off the stick and a nett of 67.12. Balls down the line to nett 71 or better.
The putting comp (5th and 15th) was won by the team of Carol Stege, Edith Robinson, Marnie Nicholson and Bev Munz who took only 3 putts to get into the toilet twice! The most putts award went to the team Marg Kermode, Jo Byrnes, Marg Nall and Pat James who needed 14 putts to achieve the same result!
The "oops we made a mistake" award went to the team of Judith Thompson, Amanda Radford, Jodie Russell and Sandra Mullaney for their work on the 16th.
